Morocco’s Ibn Tofail University won first place at the International Olympic Case Study Competition in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Tuesday.
Held by the International Olympic Committee in partnership with European universities, the competition brought together 36 institutions, with only ten reaching the final round, SNRT News reported.
Students from the university’s Institute of Sports Professions secured the top spot in the master’s category, outperforming institutions including German Sport University Cologne and the University of Lille.
The victory is also notable as Ibn Tofail University was the first African institution to participate in the competition since its launch in 2021.
The final was held in person at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, where teams presented their work to an international panel.
