Germany will be playing a friendly match against Switzerland today at St. Jakob Park in Basel, Switzerland.
Both national teams qualfied to the 2026 World Cup by topping their respective UEFA World Cup qualification groups.
Switzerland was in Group B of the qualifiers with Slovenia, Kosovo, and Sweden. Switzerland finished first with 14 points and was unbeaten after six qualifying matches.
Their previous match was a 1-1 draw with Kosovo away from home.
Germany topped Group A of the qualifiers with 15 points and only three points above second-place Slovakia. The group consisted of Germany, Slovakia, Northern Ireland, and Luxembourg.
After losing their first game of the qualifiers, Germany won the following five qualifying games to top the group. Their last qualifying match was a 6-0 home win over Slovakia, with goals from Nick Woltemade, Serge Gnabry, Ridle Baku, Forzan Assan Ouedraogo, and two goals from Leroy Sane.
