Innovation platform Living Tomorrow used ABB’s energy efficient technology in their Brussels campus. The latest digital and automated solutions give guests control over their environment with the touch of a button and building operators increased visibility to energy use and emissions. The campus offers eight state-of-the-art meeting rooms, a hotel with 92 guest rooms, an auditorium, two restaurants and a digital experience center.
Italy
ABB has provided solutions to two leading hotels, both focused on improving sustainability in their operations. At the four-star Le Fucine hotel in Buttrio, we have collaborated with owners, the Danieli Group, to integrate technology that increases both guests’ comfort and the hotel’s energy efficiency. Further south, in Tuscany, the ADLER resort hotel has also turned to ABB to renovate their electrical systems. The ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager platform was implemented to allow real-time energy consumption monitoring.

At the InterContinental Hotel in Madrid, ABB’s drives and high efficient motors have reduced energy consumption by 40 percent, showcasing how smart building technology can revolutionize sustainability in hospitality.
Finland
The Original Sokos Hotel Royal in Vaasa is being transformed into one of the most energy-efficient hotel in the Sokos chain, without losing its historic charm. Thanks to the ABB i-bus® KNX system, rooms prepare automatically before guests arrive, lighting responds to presence, and energy is used only when needed. Powered by geothermal heat and solar panels, the hotel runs primarily on renewable energy.
The Panorama Landscape Hotel offers guests a luxurious escape with its unique landscape suites, forest spa, and fine dining. Behind its serene ambiance, ABB’s advanced building automation solutions ensure seamless adaptability to guest needs via intuitive touchscreens while optimizing energy efficiency in lighting, heating, and cooling – blending rural luxury with cutting-edge sustainability.
Switzerland
The Dolder Grand pairs its renowned luxury with innovative energy efficiency and power protection, supported by ABB’s uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. In the event of power failure, ABB’s UPS ensures emergency lighting and systems remain operational while significantly enhancing energy efficiency and saving approximately 13,500 kWh annually.
ABB has also integrated smart building technology into a historic thermal spa, merging wellness traditions with modern energy-efficient solutions. This initiative enhances guest comfort while reducing environmental impact, embodying sustainable hospitality.
