NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – Regional leaders gathered today to discuss the future of eastern North Carolina with a focus on education, jobs, and the industries driving growth.
The NC East Alliance hosted the Eastern NC Future Forum at the Riverfront Convention Center.
The “Shaping the East” session focused on economic trends and how data can help guide decisions in education, workforce training, and industries across the region.
Organizers say the goal is long-term regional vitality and keeping communities aligned on what ENC needs next.
“Bringing together those new people, we want to make sure there are good connections made, and we want to make sure they know how wonderful it is to live in eastern North Carolina and make investments and raise their children here,” said NC East Alliance Vice President Bianca Shoneman.
The forum also launched a new regional storytelling effort meant to elevate and unify eastern North Carolina.
