The road to World Cup 2026 is entering its final stages, and Norway will host Switzerland on Tuesday in one of the last warm-up friendlies either team will have before the big show. Almost 13 years have passed since these teams last met, with Switzerland going undefeated in two games while qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland could feature in some capacity and could even captain Norway after he sat out Friday’s 2-1 friendly defeat against the Netherlands. The hitman’s strike rate of 55 goals in only 48 outings for his country is one of the most prolific in all of soccer, and his involvement could prove crucial in Oslo.
The Nati is also coming into this clash on the back of a defeat after losing 4-3 at home to Germany in agonizing fashion just 96 hours ago. However, Murat Yakin may also rotate in an attempt to get a more positive result this time around.
Both these teams topped their respective groups in UEFA’s World Cup qualifying period, with Norway’s run particularly impressive after pipping Italy to first place. Stale Solbakken’s side have lost just one of their last 13 games in all, and Norway currently has just one more tune-up fixture after this before World Cup play commences.
