NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – An autopsy completed Monday shows drowning as the cause of death for a man whose body was pulled from a private marina over the weekend, according to New Bern police.
Police identified the man as 51-year-old Ryan Ford.
On Sunday, around 1:25 p.m., police were called for a body found in the river behind Sky Sail Boulevard. Officials say a person on scene pulled the body of Ford from the water before police arrived.
At the time of the drowning, Ford was staying with a friend on their boat at the New Bern Grand Marina, according to police.
Police said no foul play is suspected, as there was no indication of violence or a struggle due to the lack of injuries on Ford’s body.
