NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – New Bern police spent hours searching a home today that’s located behind the Coastal Carolina Regional Airport in James City.
Police were at the home on Williams Road for several hours. The police department says they are investigating a financial crime that resulted in a search warrant being served.
Multiple police officers were at the scene as well as a forensic unit. Police were seen loading boxes into a rental truck parked in the yard.
This afternoon, police parked a front end loader in the driveway of the home.
A man who lives at the home, Efrain Vera, was arrested by New Bern police this morning on possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 32-year-old is being held on a $15,000 secured bond.
Police have not said if that arrest is connected to the search or not.
