The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting BYU linebacker Jack Kelly for a pre-draft visit on Wednesday. Kelly has positional versatility to play in the middle and on the edge. He is projected to be a fifth or seventh round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Kelly was first-team All-Big 12 at BYU in 2025. He led the team with 13.5 tackles for losses, 10 sacks, 55 tackles, one pass breakup and two forced fumbles.

Kelly, who stands at 6-foot-2, 240 pounds, ran a 4.57 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. He ran a 1.61 in the 10-yard split, posted a 37″ vertical jump and a 10′ 5″ broad jump.

He scored a 9.71 Relative Athletic Score (RAS) out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 97 out of 3346 LB from 1987 to 2026.

“Two-time team captain with four productive seasons between Weber State and BYU. Kelly is a burly linebacker with adequate play speed and desired aggression. His reaction time is average but his struggles to find his leverage and fit as a run defender pop up too often on tape,” Lance Zierlein of NFL.com wrote in his scouting report. “He has a strong punch but short arms and can get stuck to blockers who sink their hands in. He’s adequate in coverage but above average as a blitzer and has some juice when he rushes off the edge. Kelly might need to star on special teams to find a role as an even-front linebacker with third-down value.”

In addition to Kelly, the Steelers also brought in UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell and Miami safety Jakobe Thomas for pre-draft visits on Wednesday.

The Steelers have hosted 20 players for pre-draft visits so far, including three local visits which don’t count against the 30 allowed pre-draft visitors.
