NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – Nearly 2,000 customers were without power for several hours in New Bern Tuesday night.
The outage was first reported around 6:40 p.m. and stretched from Colony Estates into downtown and out past James City.
Crews worked to restore power and had most customers back in service by 10:00 p.m.
Around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, New Bern officials said all power was restored.
They say the cause of the outage was due to a bad underground cable on the James City side of the grid.
