CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers with the Craven County Sheriff’s Office arrested a New Bern man on drug charges.

Deputies with the sheriff’s office saw two suspicious cars parked near a closed business on U.S. 17 Highway and Aurora Road in Ernul on April 4. Deputies reported that as they were speaking with the occupants of the car, one attempted to hide drugs.

Michael Dewayne Stewart, 53-years-old, was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer. Stewart was taken to the Craven County Confinement Facility.
