Press, who passed away Aug. 5, 2025, was a devoted member of the Geneva community and a dedicated volunteer at the library. Known for his warmth, humor, and generosity, Press gave his time as a handyman at the library and supported its mission in countless ways over the years.

“Ron’s lasting impact on the library and the greater Geneva community cannot be overstated,” library Executive Director Frank Sykes said. “This collection is a fitting tribute to his legacy, encouraging learning, connection, and time spent outdoors. We are deeply grateful for his years of service and for this thoughtful gift in his memory.”

An avid outdoorsman, Press spent years enjoying time on the water throughout the Finger Lakes region. His appreciation for nature, education, and hands-on learning made this donation especially practical and aligns well with the library’s commitment to providing enriching resources for all.

The library thanks the White Springs Book Group for this meaningful contribution and for honoring Ron’s legacy in a way that will benefit the entire community for years to come. The collection is featured in a special display on the library’s first floor, opposite the main desk, making it easily accessible.
