CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — The Neuse River Narcotics Task Force searched a home on West A Street in New Bern on February 12, reportedly finding 38 grams of methamphetamine, 5 grams of cocaine and 9 pounds of marijuana.
The taskforce consists of the Craven County Sheriff’s Office, Carteret County Sheriff’s Office, Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations. The New Bern Police Department assisted with this ongoing narcotics investigation.
The resident of the home, 36 year old Sonny Sachel Morris Jr., was charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine, two felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, two felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance and felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of controlled substance.
Sanarrious Anthony Morris, 19 years old, was charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver of marijuana, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance, felony maintaining a vehicle for the sale of controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of controlled substance, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Morris Jr. was taken to the Craven County Confinement Facility and was given a $175k secured bond.
Morris received no bond, as he was currently out on a bond for felony possession of a stolen firearm, breaking and entering and resisting a public officer.
