Two New Bern police cruisers were involved in a crash while responding to an emergency call, according to officials.
The crash happened at the intersection of Craven and Pollock streets near several government buildings.
Multiple patrol units, fire and rescue crews, and an ambulance responded to the scene. At least six patrol vehicles were present as officers investigated the crash.
Officials have blocked off the intersection while the investigation and cleanup continue.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public, but are urging residents to avoid the area while crews work.
