WARREN – A settlement has been reached in the legal battle between the Insight Foundation of Trumbull County and a medical testing company that supplies tests and equipment to the hospital.

According to court records, a settlement was reached between the Insight Foundation and Roche Diagnostics Corp., which claimed that Insight owed them nearly $300,000 for medical tests and equipment.

The exact nature of the settlement was not specified in the court filing, but court records show a hearing scheduled for April 9 has been canceled due to the settlement.

Roche Diagnostics claimed that Insight broke its agreement and unfairly benefited from Roche’s services without paying.

In all, Roche stated that Insight owed $294,646.55 for those services.

Insight fought back saying that its financial responsibilities related to taking over the hospitals are clearly outlined in documents from the hospitals’ previous owner, Steward Health Care System’s bankruptcy case.

Insight further argued that Roche didn’t do enough to prevent or lessen its losses and that its claims are invalid due to delay or unfair conduct on Roche’s part.
