Glencore Plc said it would seek to keep an equal share of its copper joint venture with Anglo American Plc in Chile should it merge with a neighboring mine owned by Teck Resources Ltd. after the two rivals combine operations.

“We won’t be a junior partner,” Glencore Chief Executive Officer Gary Nagle said during an investor presentation. Nagle said that, should there be a future combination, Glencore could put some cash in to keep its share equal.
