Dale County, Ala. — A Geneva man has been charged with reckless murder following a deadly crash Sunday night in Dale County that claimed the life of a Geneva woman.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the single-vehicle crash happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. Sunday, May 10, at the intersection of Dale County Road 1 and Alabama 92, about seven miles south of Enterprise.
Authorities said 66-year-old Linda D. White of Geneva was a passenger in a 2007 Jeep Commander when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. White was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep, 38-year-old Alfonzo L. Nance of Geneva, was injured in the crash and transported to Enterprise Medical Center for treatment.
ALEA said Nance was arrested Monday, May 11, and charged with reckless murder in connection to the crash. He was booked into the Dale County Jail and currently does not have a bond.
Nothing further was available as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.
