CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A New Bern man has been arrested for trying to speed away from deputies on a motorcycle in Craven County, officials say.
Craven County deputies say yesterday, they attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding on U.S. 17 Highway in Bridgeton.
They went on to say the motorcyclist rode away from deputies going towards New Bern. According to deputies, 19-year-old Marshall Taylor of New Bern tried to turn the motorcycle around on Howell Road before losing control.
They said he was taken into custody afterwards.
Taylor told authorities he rode away because he didn’t have a motorcycle endorsement.
Deputies say he is charged with felony feeling to elude law enforcement, speeding (100 in a 55), and no motorcycle endorsement.
Taylor was placed in the Craven County Confinement Facility under a $60,000.00 secured bond.
