NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – Construction to improve a New Bern intersection is set to begin next week.
Starting Monday, crews will close the left lanes in both directions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to widen the left-turn lanes onto Hotel Drive.
NCDOT says this first phase of the project is expected to take about two weeks, weather permitting. The lanes will reopen once the work is complete.
More improvements throughout the summer will include drainage, paving, signals, and pedestrian accommodations, with lane closures expected.
Drivers are asked to use caution near the work zone and find detour routes.
