NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – Police have charged a woman in a deadly motorcycle crash that happened last week in New Bern.
Police say Stephanie Burgess was making a left turn out of a parking lot near the Handy Mart on South Glenburnie Road when her car collided with a motorcycle.
The crash happened around 8:20 p.m. last Tuesday. Killed was 23-year-old Allen Birzack, of New Bern.
The 49-year-old Burgess was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. She was served yesterday, and a magistrate released the woman on a written promise to appear.
