MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The City of Lake Geneva Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.
In a Facebook post Sunday, the department announced the death of Deputy Chief Daniel T. Derrick.
Derrick served the Lake Geneva Fire Department for 54 years, with his career beginning on Jan. 4, 1972.

The Department said that Derrick was instrumental in developing the city’s EMS system, and shaped the department and advanced public safety.
“He exemplified quiet strength, integrity, and genuine care for those he served alongside,” LGFD said. “His influence lives on through the generations of firefighters and EMS providers he guided, taught, and inspired.”
Funeral services for Deputy Chief Derrick are pending.
