Nestlé Toll House has built its empire on the chocolate chip cookie—and for good reason. After all, the original 1930s Toll House cookie recipe helped launch America’s obsession with chocolate chip cookies in the first place.
Since then, Nestlé has spent decades putting new spins on the classic, from Brown Butter Chocolate Chip and Pecan Turtle Delights to seasonal favorites like Santa’s Cookies, Springtime Chocolate Chip, and even the recent Soccer Ball Morsel Cookies.
But while the chocolate chip cookies tend to get all the glory, sugar cookies have been quietly carving out their own place in the brand lineup. Last year, Nestlé Toll House made its sugar cookie dough tubs a permanent part of its refrigerated lineup, giving fans a soft, buttery dough to keep on hand for everything from holiday cutouts to everyday cravings.
And now, the brand is giving sugar cookies the full spotlight with a fun new summer release.
Nestlé Toll House Launches New Red, White & Blue Sugar Cookie Dough
Nestlé Toll House just announced a sweet new addition to its summer lineup: Red, White & Blue Sugar Cookie Dough.
The limited-edition dough gives the classic sugar cookie a patriotic makeover, with red, white, and blue candy bits that bake right into each cookie for a colorful crunch.
The package may not come right out and say it, but this launch feels like a pretty clear nod to America’s 250th birthday celebration this July 4. After seeing patriotic treats pop up from Duncan Hines, Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, and just about every other food brand ahead of the big celebration, it would be more surprising if Nestlé Toll House didn’t join the party.
And fans are more than ready to toss these new treats in their carts. “I need these immediately, if not sooner,” one fan shared on social media. “Iconic,” wrote another.
The new Red, White & Blue Sugar Cookie Dough comes with 20 pre-portioned, ready-to-bake cookies and contains no artificial flavors or colors. It’s rolling out to retailers nationwide now and should be available throughout the summer season.
But if you’re hoping to give them a try, you may not want to wait too long. Specialty sugar cookies from Nestlé Toll House don’t come around often, and plenty of fans already seem eager to get a pack.
