The protest escalated as some participants hurled stones at a UN telecommunication building, further intensifying the confrontation. Flares were also thrown as police endeavored to manage the situation.
Efforts to disperse the protesters from the UN site continued as authorities aimed to restore calm around the international organization’s premises.
