President Trump landed in Geneva ahead of the G7 summit in France, with world leaders hoping the recently announced US-Iran peace agreement will pave the way for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and stabilise global energy markets
US President Donald Trump on Monday arrived in Geneva to attend the G7 summit in neighbouring France, as world leaders looked to the recently announced US-Iran peace deal to help restore stability to global energy markets.
According to AFP, Air Force One touched down in the Swiss city on Monday.
Trump is expected to travel onward to the French resort town of Evian, which is hosting the gathering of the Group of Seven major economies.

The summit comes as US allies hope that the framework agreement reached with Iran will lead to the swift reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route that has been at the centre of disruptions during the 107-day conflict.
The waterway’s reopening is expected to ease concerns over global oil supplies and reduce pressure on energy markets following months of heightened tensions in the Gulf.
