Islam Times – A member of the Iranian Parliament’s presiding board said that European countries have been sidelined from the latest round of Tehran–Washington nuclear negotiations in Geneva due to their unreliability.Abbas Papizadeh, speaking to Fars News Agency, announced that indirect talks between Iran and the United States will be held on Tuesday in Geneva, hosted by Oman, without the participation of European parties.
He stated that in this round of negotiations, European countries were excluded from the process because they are considered untrustworthy and lack the necessary authority.
The new round of talks is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, in Geneva. It follows the first round, which was held on February 6 in Muscat after several months of hiatus, with Oman acting as mediator.
At the conclusion of the Muscat talks, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s foreign minister, described the atmosphere of the negotiations as “constructive.”
The US delegation was headed by Steve Witkoff, the US president’s special envoy for the Middle East.
