NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – A New Bern man is now behind bars after deputies say he threatened a child into making pornographic videos.
Robert Cothren Jr. was arrested on Sunday.
The investigation started when Craven County deputies said they received a Cybertip that Cothren had sexually extorted a 13-year-old on Snapchat.
He was charged with felony aggravated sexual extortion, felony indecent liberties with a child, felony first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The 19-year-old remains in jail without bond.
