Boat capsizes on Geneva Lake, three people die
Seven people were rescued
LAKE GENEVA, Wis. —
Three people died Friday afternoon after a boat they were on overturned in Geneva Lake in Lake Geneva.
According to the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, seven people were rescued.
When asked by WISN 12 News, Undersheriff Tom Hausner said he did not know if the three fatalities were children or where the people were from.
The boat was several hundred yards offshore.
Hausner advised that everyone stay away from the area.
Powerful storms moved through the county early Friday afternoon, causing massive damage to the town and village of Sharon, the town and village of Walworth, Fontana, Linn, Geneva and Lake Geneva.
