Switzerland and Colombia meet Tuesday in the 2026 World Cup Round of 16. Kickoff from BC Place in Vancouver, Canada, is set for 4 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze World Cup odds around Switzerland vs. Colombia odds and make our expert soccer picks and predictions.

Switzerland, No. 15 in the FIFA World Rankings, entered the World Cup as the favorite in its group, and it didn’t disappoint. After a rough start following a 1-1 draw with Qatar, Switzerland put the pedal to the gas, throttling Bosnia-Herzegovina 4-1 and then edging Canada 2-1 to top Group B. It drew Algeria in the Round of 32 and won 2-0 via goals from F Breel Embolo and F Dan Ndoye.

No. 11-ranked Colombia had a more difficult group stage draw. It opened up play with a 3-1 win over Uzbekistan and took down the Condo DR 1-0 in its second outing. Colombia then faced the now-eliminated Portugal in its most high-profile match, ending with a 0-0 tie despite having 0.77 more expected goals. Cracking the Round of 32, Colombia beat Ghana 1-0 on a goal by midfielder Jhon Arias to advance.

The 2 nations have split the only 2 international friendly matches they’ve played (in 1991 and 2007). Colombia won their only World Cup meeting 2-0 in a 1994 group stage match. This is Switzerland’s 13th World Cup — reaching the quarterinals 3 times — and Colombia’s seventh, with its best result being a quarterfinal appearance in 2014.

Colombia 2, Switzerland 1

BET COLOMBIA (+125).

Colombia has just looked like the more impressive side. It was really able to control the game against Portugal, one of the more technically sound sides in the tournament. While the scoreline didn’t reflect it, Colombia ended with 1.77 more expected goals than Ghana. It should’ve won 2-0 or 3-0, if not more.

For Switzerland, it isn’t quite as fast, and it has struggled against quality competition. While it beat Canada in its third group stage game, it had 0.55 fewer expected goals. A draw against Qatar is also worrisome. Put it all together, and at these odds, back the favorite.

BET OVER 2.5 (+130).

Both teams have players who are capable of finishing in the final third. While Colombia hasn’t shown as much offensive prowess, F Luis Diaz will put consistent pressure on Switzerland.

For Switzerland, it has scored 8 goals across its last 3 games, so it should be able to get on the board in this one. Given the odds here and Switzerland’s aggressive play, take the Over 2.5 (+130).
