Azerbaijan and Switzerland have established a balanced investment partnership over the past three decades, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said on Tuesday.

Bayramov made the remarks during a joint press conference with Ignazio Cassis, Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland and OSCE Chairman-in-Office, AZERTAC reported.

“Reviewing the outcomes of the last three decades, Switzerland’s investments in Azerbaijan amount to $1.6 billion, while Azerbaijan’s investments in Switzerland reach $2.3 billion. These indicators demonstrate that a well balanced approach has been formed in investment cooperation,” Bayramov said.

The minister also highlighted the strong performance of bilateral trade, noting that trade relations between the two countries achieved positive results in 2025.

“In 2025, mutual trade was quite successful, with the total trade volume between the two countries reaching nearly $1.8 billion,” he stated.

Bayramov added that 110 Swiss companies are registered in Azerbaijan, of which 87 are actively operating in sectors including industry, construction, agriculture, transport, trade, and other areas.

He further noted that both countries are currently working on several new bilateral documents and expressed confidence that additional agreements will be signed in the near future.

“Currently, work is underway on a number of new documents between the two countries. We believe that we will soon witness the signing of additional agreements,” Bayramov emphasized.
