6. Mundelein 2-0 (NR): Cameron Earing’s 40-yard TD on the Mustangs’ first play from scrimmage sets the tone in their win over Grayslake Central.

7. Zion-Benton 2-0 (8): The Zee-Bees prove they can score with a combined 108 points, but their upcoming NSC schedule will ratchet up the pressure on the defense.

8. Grayslake North 2-0 (10): Alejandro Romero, Brooklyn Washington and Finn McMahon catch TD passes from quarterback Jaylen Newkirk in the Knights’ win over Wheeling.

9. Round Lake 2-0 (NR): Quarterback Evan West shakes off two first-half interceptions to pass for 230 yards and three TDs, rallying the Panthers to a win over Streamwood.

10. Grant 1-1 (NR): Doltyn Longtin and Jackson Fudala combine for 318 rushing yards and four TDs in the Bulldogs’ win over Glenbrook North.

Senior wide receiver Devin Powell makes 12 catches for 150 yards and three touchdowns, including two in the second half, during Round Lake’s 28-27 come-from-behind nonconference win at Streamwood.
