The city of Geneva is warning those who live along Seneca Lake about the potential for elevated water levels. The city says additional rain in the forecast could cause the lake level to rise by one to two and a half inches.

Those who live along the shoreline or have boats docked there are asked to take precautions.

According to officials, elevated water levels could be an ongoing issue for several weeks. Those in low-lying areas are also asked to prepare for flooding.

This comes as homeowners along Lake Ontario are also facing the potential for rising water levels. Neighborhoods in Greece are already preparing for the possibility of flooding.
