NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – The iconic Harrier Jets will soar over Eastern Carolina tomorrow afternoon ahead of this summer’s celebration of their legacy.
The jets are set to pass directly over Union Point Park, giving those in downtown New Bern one of the best viewing spots for their flyover before their official farewell in June.
New Bern officials say they’re excited to welcome visitors for the Harrier Sundown Celebration, honoring the legacy of the jets and their connection to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.
The flyover will be held from 4:55 p.m. to 5:10 p.m. tomorrow, with the celebration scheduled for June 1 through 4 at Cherry Point. It will feature events commemorating the aircraft’s service and history.
More information about the celebration can be found on Visit New Bern’s website.
