This significant purchase was made via a tender for August arrival. <a id=\"75662\" type=\"General\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"bharat-petroleum\" source=\"Orion\" class=\"news-keywords\" href=\"https:\/\/energy.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/bharat+petroleum\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bharat Petroleum<\/a> Corp and Japan&#8217;s Taiyo Oil bought crude from the United States this week, according to trading sources, as the refiners seek \u200cto diversify \u2060supplies \u2060amid the Middle East conflict.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"44555\" type=\"DOMAIN\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"bpcl\" botkeyword=\"\" source=\"ET\" sourcekeytype=\"COMPANY\" meta.keywordsubtype=\"EQ\" meta.aliasname=\"bpcl\" meta.entityname=\"Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.\" meta.entityid=\"11941\" meta.seoname=\"bharat-petroleum-corporation-ltd\" class=\"news-keywords\" href=\"https:\/\/energy.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/bpcl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BPCL<\/a> bought West Texas Intermediate crude from trading house Vitol, four sources said.<\/p>\n<p>Two of them said the refiner has booked an Aframax tanker, which is capable of carrying up to 600,000 barrels \u2060of crude, \u200cfor the purchase. The oil was bought at a premium around $6 \u2060per barrel to dated Brent, they added.<\/p>\n<p>Taiyo Oil bought 2 million barrels of U.S. crude for delivery in early October and the cargo was purchased at a premium of around $6 per barrel above ICE Brent, a separate trader said.<\/p>\n<p>Companies normally \u200cdo not comment on commercial matters.<\/p>\n<p>Asian refiners had reduced purchases of U.S. crude following the \u2060U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement.
