AUBURN HILLS, Mich. \u2014 ABB Robotics has introduced the Flexley Stack F712, an autonomous forklift that expands the company’s autonomous mobile robot lineup for manufacturing applications.<\/p>\n
The new forklift is designed to support material movement for manufacturing operations. It joins ABB’s existing autonomous tugs and movers, allowing manufacturers to automate a broader range of material-handling tasks within production facilities.<\/p>\n
The Flexley Stack F712 uses Visual SLAM technology for navigation rather than fixed guidance infrastructure such as markers or reflectors. According to ABB, the system can transport loads weighing up to 2,000 kilograms and stack materials at heights of up to 8.5 meters.<\/p>\n
\u201cBusinesses are being asked to process greater volumes in less time while working with increasingly limited resources,\u201d said Marc Segura, president of ABB Robotics. \u201cAs part of our journey to more autonomous and versatile robotics, we have combined advanced vision, mobility and intelligence.\u201d<\/p>\n
ABB said the forklift integrates with its AMR Studio software for fleet coordination and system management. The company said the platform can reduce commissioning time by up to 20% and is compatible with VDA 5050, an industry standard for communication between autonomous mobile robots and fleet management systems.<\/p>\n
The Flexley Stack F712 is part of ABB’s broader Autonomous Versatile Robotics strategy, which combines industrial robots, collaborative robots and autonomous mobile robots with AI-enabled software to automate manufacturing operations.<\/p>\n
