{"id":100602,"date":"2026-07-09T16:23:19","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T16:23:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/100602\/"},"modified":"2026-07-09T16:23:19","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T16:23:19","slug":"convicted-of-attempted-murder-for-stabbing-jewish-man-near-synagogue-swiss-teen-avoids-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/100602\/","title":{"rendered":"Convicted of attempted murder for stabbing Jewish man near synagogue, Swiss teen avoids jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ZURICH, Switzerland \u2014 A teenager who stabbed a Jewish man in March 2024 in Zurich was sentenced on Tuesday to one year in prison \u2014 the maximum for someone of his age \u2014 but his punishment was commuted to compulsory mental care.<\/p>\n<p>Aged 15 at the time of the incident, he had stabbed a 50-year-old man <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/swiss-president-says-antisemitism-has-no-place-in-country-after-jewish-man-stabbed\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">17 times in the street<\/a> near a synagogue.
