And they got some special Kansas City charms. So that&#8217;s what I&#8217;m here for,&#8221; said Catelyn Smith who waited in a long line.Other fans took their time.A cooling mist was a popular stopping point.Some fans also used wet towels for comfort in the Kansas City heat.The unmistakable Colombia super fan &#8220;Pulpito&#8221; was also part of the crowd.Despite a heartbreaking Colombia loss to Switzerland in penalty kicks, Pulpito came to Kansas City to attend Fan Fest and the Argentina quarterfinal match versus Switzerland.&#8221;He likes the dance, the Fan Fest. He likes the people. He likes the beer,&#8221; said Pulpito&#8217;s interpreter.Fan Fest was also an opportunity for future stars to show their skills with an on-field soccer clinic.Volunteers like Candice Merrit have made it all possible.&#8221;This is a great experience and I love Kansas City,&#8221; she said.&#8221;We talked to a lot of people and they&#8217;re just from out of town, and they&#8217;re just, you know, they love Kansas City.
