GENEVA \u2014 The city and Geneva Community Projects celebrated the official launch of Seneca W.A.V.E. \u2014 Waterfront Access, Views and Events \u2014 July 19 with a free, family-friendly community celebration that welcomed residents and visitors to Geneva\u2019s revitalized lakefront.<\/p>\n
The event marked the public introduction and naming of the new waterfront structure, a collaborative project between Geneva Community Projects and the city designed to create a welcoming destination for gathering, recreation, and community events along the shore of Seneca Lake.<\/p>\n
Families attending the celebration enjoyed an afternoon filled with entertainment and activities for all ages. Highlights included performances by Nate the Great, whose juggling and comedy delighted audiences; Nancy Curvin Playground Players; an interactive and educational reptile experience from Dan the Snakeman; Geneva 2030\u2019s rock-painting table; giant bubbles; animal balloons; bounce houses,;and a variety of additional family activities.<\/p>\n
Three days later, It’s My Party’s performance as part of the lakefront’s summer music series was the first live concert at the new venue.<\/p>\n
More than 600 people voted for Seneca W.A.V.E., which reflects the vision behind the project:<\/p>\n

The new space was created to enhance public access to Seneca Lake while providing a scenic venue for community programming, cultural events, and everyday enjoyment. Its design encourages residents and visitors alike to experience Geneva\u2019s waterfront in new ways \u2014 from relaxing by the lake to attending concerts, festivals, educational programs, and seasonal celebrations.<\/p>\n
Geneva Community Projects and the city thank the volunteers, sponsors, vendors, entertainers, and community partners whose support helped make the inaugural celebration such a memorable success.<\/p>\n
