Additionally, national security advisers<br \/>\nfrom those countries were expected to hold separate meetings with the Ukrainian<br \/>\nand US delegations on the sidelines of the talks.<\/p>\n<p>AFP reported that \u201ca source close to the Russian delegation\u201d<br \/>\ndescribed the latest round as \u201cvery tense,\u201d adding that negotiations are set to<br \/>\nresume on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, the<br \/>\ndelegations discussed complex issues requiring significant compromises. He<br \/>\nindicated that \u201cthe Geneva round covered more subjects than previous talks held<br \/>\nin Abu Dhabi, with all major issues, including territorial matters, placed on<br \/>\nthe agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Geneva meeting forms part of a broader diplomatic push<br \/>\nto end the nearly four-year war between Russia and Ukraine, with the<br \/>\nUnited States playing a mediating role.
