GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. (WTVY) – Senator Donnie Chesteen partnered with other Wiregrass legislators and Wiregrass RC&D to host a first responders luncheon in Geneva County.<\/p>\n
First responders from across the county attended the event, including state troopers, Slocomb Fire and Rescue, and the Geneva County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
\u201cRepresentative Sorrels and I wanted to bring everyone together today, all our first responders, and just tell them thank you,\u201d Chesteen said. \u201cYou know, they\u2019re the ones that protect us, look after us, our communities, 24-7, 365, so this is just a small token of our appreciation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Chesteen also recognized city, town, and county leadership for their support of first responders.<\/p>\n
