ALPS GROUP OF Hotels is redeveloping the former Four Points Sheraton in San Diego, California. The hotel will become The Goldfinch Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio hotel, and is set to reopen in early 2027. <\/p>\n
The company acquired the 20-acre property in 2023, ALPS said in a statement<\/a>. Built in 1987, the hotel has operated in Kearny Mesa for nearly four decades. The property is near to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport.<\/p>\n The redevelopment includes 223 renovated guestrooms and more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. Plans also call for a nine-hole executive golf course, a redesigned pool, a restaurant and a bar.<\/p>\n ALPS is a California-based hospitality company founded in 2000 and owned by Saahil Khandwala<\/a>, focusing on hotel investment, development and management.<\/p>\n “When we looked at this property, we didn’t just see an opportunity to renovate a hotel. We saw an opportunity to tell the story of this neighborhood in a new way,” said Khandwala. “By drawing inspiration from Kearny Mesa’s history and heritage, we’re creating a place that feels rooted here and gives both neighbors and travelers a reason to return.”<\/p>\n The project team includes Starck Architecture + Planning, Atwater Studio, McCullough Landscape Architecture, Grizzly and Level 3 Construction. <\/p>\n
