1.6-litre strong hybridExpected India launch in 2027<\/p>\n

The 2027 Kia Seltos<\/a> has been spotted testing in Grossglockner, Austrain Alps, and this is likely to be a hybrid. Although it is partially wrapped, the design is pretty much known. This mid-size SUV is likely to debut in India in 2027 as a hybrid, making it the second one after the Sorento, the latter of which will be launched on 4 September.<\/p>\n

Design-wise, the mid-size SUV remains the same, and we do not expect any change. In its home country, South Korea, there is no change in design. This means every feature found in the top-spec version will remain unchanged in the hybrid. The spotted test mule only sports changed alloys. Unlike the China-spec Seltos<\/a> that gets a triple-screen setup, the vanilla dual-screen will continue worldwide.<\/p>\n

The biggest differentiator is in the mechanical aspect. The Seltos hybrid is powered by a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that churns out 140.7bhp, and this is paired with an electric motor that churns out 43bhp. This is essentially a strong hybrid, and a claimed fuel efficiency of about 25kmpl is what we can expect. South Korea looks like a launchpad for the hybrid, where the SUV is offered in both 2WD and e-AWD configurations, and the latter could come to India upon popular demand.<\/p>\n
