We’re all familiar with ITV’s hit dating show Love Island. Tanned bodies, bikinis, and influencers trying to get brand deals post-show. Well picture the exact opposite and you get S4C’s Amour & Mynydd.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Welsh-language dating show will be returning for its second season<\/a> as it takes eight new singles to the French Alps in the hope of finding love. Across 12 days the contestants will share accommodation in the opulent Amour & Mynydd chalet surrounded by the stunning vistas of the French Alps.<\/p>\n

The new season will be available to watch from 9pm on Tuesday, February 10, on S4C<\/a>, S4C Clic, and BBC<\/a> iPlayer. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Host Elin Fflur will once again be helping the participants throughout their journey prompting them to confront difficult choices while throwing in several unexpected twists. The host credits the inaugural series’ triumph to viewers’ desire to “have a nose at people’s lives”.<\/p>\n

Elin said: “We all like seeing how people react to each other in a situation that’s quite intense \u2013 and I think that’s the success of reality programmes.<\/p>\n

“Traditionally we Welsh people are quite reserved \u2013 we don’t like revealing too much about ourselves or being completely exposed on TV. So I think that’s why the first series got so much attention.”<\/p>\n

Steering away from modern online dating norms Amour & Mynydd attempts to build in-person relationships through the power of organic chemistry.<\/p>\n

Elin added: “Apps are such a big part of people’s dating lives today \u2013 Amour & Mynydd forces people to go back to the old-fashioned way of meeting each other like how you’d meet someone in the pub back in the day.”<\/p>\n

Occupation: Veterinary nurse<\/p>\n

Evie says: “I\u2019m hoping to find the love of my life \u2013 someone I want to marry, someone I want to spend the rest of my life with, and someone to have fun with.<\/p>\n

“I feel this is a good opportunity to meet someone straightaway, to dive straight into the deep end, and I can really get to know them because I\u2019m living with them. I have no idea what to expect.”<\/p>\n

Jasmine says: “I absolutely love glamour \u2013 fur, sequins, diamonds, you name it. Obviously they\u2019re all faux \u2013 I can\u2019t afford the real thing. I\u2019m looking for someone who\u2019s honest and who doesn\u2019t take themselves too seriously.”<\/p>\n

Manon says: “My friends would say that I get a lot of attention from boys and that I\u2019m a bit of a flirt\u2026of course I\u2019m a catch.<\/p>\n

“I have quite a strict criteria when it comes to boys \u2013 someone who\u2019s tall, plays lots of sport, with nice hair and nice teeth.<\/p>\n

“A lot of boys have said I\u2019m intimidating but I don\u2019t know why.”<\/p>\n

Rhys says: “Why am I single? Unlucky? I know I\u2019m hard work but that\u2019s just my personality. I\u2019m out there, a bit of an extrovert, so people hear me before they see me and maybe that\u2019s a bit annoying for some people.”<\/p>\n
