Swiss baritone \u00c4neas Humm is returning to Faro for a charity concert at the historic Teatro Lethes on September 26.<\/p>\n
The concert, organised by the Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI)<\/a>, will begin at 7pm and follows Humm\u2019s performance in the Algarve last year.<\/p>\n A graduate of the Juilliard School in New York, Humm has performed at major European opera houses and concert venues, including Theater an der Wien, Teatro dell\u2019Opera di Roma and Teatro La Fenice in Venice.<\/p>\n His recent appearances include Owen Wingrave at the Festival della Valle d\u2019Itria and performances as Papageno during a European concert tour with Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski.<\/p>\n For his return to Faro, Humm will perform a programme featuring works by Jules Massenet, Richard Wagner, Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k and Richard Strauss.<\/p>\n He will be accompanied by pianist Doriana Tchakarova, while Algarve choir Ossonoba, directed by Nuno Sequeira Rodrigues, will also join the performance for a special collaboration.<\/p>\n The concert will take place at Teatro Lethes, one of Portugal\u2019s oldest theatres and one of Faro\u2019s best-known cultural venues.<\/p>\n Following the performance, concertgoers will be invited to a wine-tasting reception, where they will have an opportunity to meet Humm.<\/p>\n All proceeds from the evening will support educational and social projects run by the Rotary Club Estoi Palace International in the local community.<\/p>\n Among the initiatives due to benefit is the club\u2019s project to help build a 24-hour childcare centre.<\/p>\n Tickets are available from Teatro Lethes in Faro and through BOL<\/a>.<\/p>\n
