The annual Concours d\u2019Elegance<\/a> car show will feature some 350 vintage, classic, antique and modern vehicles.<\/p>\n

The event is free to attend and takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, on Third Street in downtown Geneva<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Three special features this year are the 1931 Cadillacs with Phaeton-style coachwork; The Auto Union to Audi story; and Whizzer motorized bicycles, event co-director Pat Barrett said.<\/p>\n

A Phaeton is an early open-air car built in the style of the old carriages. The name draws from Phaethon in Greek mythology. Phaethon was the mortal son of the sun god Helios. He drove his father\u2019s sun chariot, lost control and nearly set the earth on fire before Zeus struck him down with a thunderbolt.<\/p>\n

Of all the entries, 152 will be judged, Barrett said in an email.<\/p>\n

Those include 18 Phaetons, including an 1890 Studebaker Phaeton and a 1906 Cadillac Phaeton, and 16 Audis, including one that currently holds the land speed record for four-door sedans, according to Barrett\u2019s email.<\/p>\n

The Whizzer Motor group includes 12 motorized bicycles from 1938 to 1964.<\/p>\n
