Because why not? If one has a ton of money and high-value commodities that mostly appreciate, then they will take important steps to protect them at any cost.

When money is no object, wealthy individuals can afford to choose highly specialized ways to safeguard their possessions, even if that means storing them deep underground. According to a report by the New York Post, a network of tunnels is being carved into the Swiss Alps to give wealthy clients a highly secure place to store their assets.

Known as the Brünig Mega Safe, the project is already under construction, and once completed next year, access to the vaults will be limited to select clients. The complex will feature about 20 private vaults buried under more than 300 feet of rock, providing an additional layer of security.

Entrepreneur Thomas Gasser, chairman of the board of directors at Brünig Mega Safe, told RTS that “You’ll first have to drive through a special checkpoint and get out of your vehicle: there will be several security checks, which obviously won’t be disclosed to the public.”

Amid the ongoing conflict and instability in the Middle East, demand for underground vaults has reportedly been rising. Swissinfo quoted Gasser as saying:

“For a long time, Dubai was considered safe. Today, that sense of security is being called into question. People simply want to safeguard part of their wealth.”

The vaults will be offered to customers on 99-year leases, with prices starting at $1.23 million. Gasser said:

“The advantage is that the client becomes the owner: they have their own parcel number in the land register and can even mortgage the property.”

Switzerland has a long history of repurposing underground military facilities for sensitive uses, including fortified storage sites and highly secure data centers. However, the planned Lungern facility takes this concept a step further, combining the natural protection of the surrounding mountains with advanced security measures.

The ultra-rich are building massive underground vaults in the Swiss Alps, beneath the Brünig Pass near the village…

[16
50,19573
post-117996","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-alps","tag-alps","tag-ferrari
["GET
