For kids, this month welcomes fresh beginnings full of new goals and opportunities. We hope that families were able to spend time together and enjoy stress-free moments this summer.

It’s always sad to see summer come to an end, but the fun is still going on in Geneva! Geneva Chamber’s Festival of the Vine returns Sept. 11-Sept. 13, so get ready to celebrate fall, friends, food and fine wines!

This three-day festival makes wine and food lovers’ mouths water. You can purchase a variety of red and white wines, a cold beer and amazing food under a grand outdoor tent located at James and South Fourth Streets. Still not convinced you’ll enjoy Festival of the Vine? Come try it out this year and enjoy free musical entertainment!

Local restaurants will create a culinary display featuring quick bites and fine dining experiences. Enjoy a savory appetizer or a sweet dessert. This Festival is the perfect opportunity to try food from local Geneva restaurants you have been wanting to try.

Festival of the Vine isn’t just for adults, so you don’t have to worry about finding a babysitter. There is plenty of amusement for young visitors, including face painting and the Doodle Booth, which was popular at Swedish Days, offered on Saturday on the south side of the Courthouse lawn.

Adding to the festival’s atmosphere will be complimentary horse-drawn antique carriage rides. Carriage rides will be offered on Saturday and Sunday for a tour of Geneva’s historic district.

An Arts and Crafts Show will feature the works of talented local and out-of-state artisans. The show, located on the courthouse lawn and Campbell Street, takes place on Saturday and Sunday.

Don’t let the fun end when the kids go back to school! There are still plenty of ways to enjoy the town.

For more information on this festival, as well as other Chamber events, please visit www.genevachamber.com or call 630.232.6060.
