Nick Chubb had a terrific NFL career as the former Georgia running back went from second-rounder in 2018 to consistent producer in his prime thanks to four straight Pro Bowl years — a quartet of 1,000-yard seasons and 40 rushing scores from 2019 through 2022.<\/p>\n
But in 2023, injuries caught up with him and he was never the same. After a final year with the Houston Texans<\/a> in 2025, Chubb called it a career on Friday in a lengthy Instagram post.<\/p>\n So why did he retire at the age of 30? Here’s what he said in his post: “I’ve known for some time now, but I’m finally ready to share that I’m done playing football. I wanted to end my career on a healthy note, along with a winning season, and I was able to do that.”<\/p>\n While recounting his pro football journey, he had this to say, too:<\/p>\n Dealing with injuries was something else that wasn’t part of the plan. The only thing I could control after hurting my knee twice was getting back up, getting back to work, and getting back on the field.
