After eight seasons in the NFL, four-time Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb<\/a> is calling it a career.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chubb spent his first seven seasons with the Cleveland Browns, who selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.<\/a> During his time in Cleveland, Chubb was selected to the Pro Bowl four times, and was a second-team All-Pro in 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the 2025 off-season, Chubb signed a one year contract with the Houston Texans, and on Aug. 21, 2026, Chubb announced his retirement from the NFL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cFootball was a huge blessing in my life. It opened so many doors, gave me opportunities I never could have imagined, and allowed me to meet some amazing people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chubb continues, \u201cI\u2019m grateful for everyone I crossed paths with along the way, and I promise I took something from each of you. Thank you to my teammates, my coaches, the fans, and anyone who ever cheered me on.<\/p>\n

Twelve year-old me could have never imagined where this game would take us. But 30 year-old me can look back and say we gave it everything we had.<\/p>\n

In the second quarter of a Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chubb suffered a serious knee injury, tearing his MCL, and damaging his ACL when he was tackled by Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick<\/a>, ending Chubb\u2019s season.<\/p>\n

Chubb finished his career with the Browns ranked third in franchise history in rushing yards with 6,843, behind Jim Brown (12,312) and LeRoy Kelly (7,274).<\/p>\n

Chubb is one of only four players in NFL history who had more than 1,000 carries, and averaged more than five yards per carry, joining Jamal Charles (7,563 yards on 1,407 carries), Jim Brown (12,312 yards on 2,359 carries), and Joe Perry with 9,723 yards on 1,929 carries).<\/p>\n
