NFL All-Pro running back Nick Chubb announced his retirement on Friday via an Instagram post. <\/p>\n
Chubb<\/a>, 30, spent seven of his eight years in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns<\/a> after the team selected him 35th overall in the 2018 draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n The four-time Pro Bowler was one of the best backs in the league during his prime with the Browns. After putting up 986 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns (total: 1,145 yards, 10 TDs) in his rookie year, the same year he became the fourth player in NFL history to break 100 rushing yards on three or fewer carries in a single game, Chubb went on to post four straight 1,000-yard seasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n He set a career-high in 2022 when he finished the season with 1,525 rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns (12 rushing), earning Second-Team All-Pro honors. In his first six years, Chubb finished each season averaging over 5.0 yards per carry.\u00a0<\/p>\n Then, in 2022, Chubb suffered a brutal left knee injury, tearing his MCL, damaging his meniscus, rupturing his medial capsule, and even needing a second surgery to repair his ACL.\u00a0<\/p>\n
