{"id":120382,"date":"2026-08-25T16:14:41","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T16:14:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/120382\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T16:14:41","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T16:14:41","slug":"lululemon-may-cut-annual-earnings-outlook-amid-weak-us-china-sales-warns-ubs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/120382\/","title":{"rendered":"Lululemon May Cut Annual Earnings Outlook Amid Weak US, China Sales, Warns UBS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UBS expects Lululemon to reduce its fiscal 2026 earnings forecast by around $1.25 per share, according to The Fly.\n<\/p>\n<p>Lulu initially forecast FY2026 earnings in the $12.10 to $12.30 per share range before lowering it to $10.95 to $11.15 per share.UBS said it sees \u201climited near-term catalysts\u201d but the \u201calready-bearish sentiment\u201d may be reflected in the stock\u2019s low valuation.The athleisure company is scheduled to report its second-quarter earnings on Sept. 3, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Continued weakness in Lululemon Athletica\u2019s (LULU) two largest markets could lead the athleisure company to reduce its full-year 2026 earnings guidance again, UBS said.<\/p>\n<p>The firm expects Lululemon to reduce its fiscal 2026 earnings forecast by around $1.25 per share, to a range of $9.70 to $9.90, amid weak sales in China and the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>If this is the case, it would mark the second cut to Lululemon\u2019s 2026 earnings outlook. Lulu initially forecast earnings in the $12.10 to $12.30 per share range in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025, before lowering it to $10.95 to $11.15 per share in the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal 2026.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing,<a href=\"https:\/\/stocktwits.com\/symbol\/LULU\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0LULU shares<\/a> were down 4.2% and are currently tracking a fifth monthly decline in six months.<\/p>\n<p>US Business Remains Under Pressure<\/p>\n<p>During the first quarter, Lululemon\u2019s U.S. revenue fell 4%. Revenue from its Americas business declined 3%, while comparable sales dropped 5%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During a call with analysts after the company\u2019s Q1 results, interim co-CEO and CFO Meghan Frank said Lululemon\u2019s business weakened after negative media and social-media commentary hurt customer traffic and sales while some new product releases also performed below expectations.<\/p>\n<p>UBS said it sees \u201climited near-term catalysts\u201d but the \u201calready-bearish sentiment\u201d may be reflected in the stock\u2019s low valuation. It lowered LULU\u2019s price target to $120 from $124 and kept a \u2018Neutral\u2019 rating, according to The Fly.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Burry Sees A Bargain<\/p>\n<p>Despite the operating challenges, \u2018The Big Short\u2019 investor Michael Burry remains optimistic. He recently<a href=\"https:\/\/stocktwits.com\/news-articles\/markets\/equity\/michael-burry-says-lulu-stock-is-screaming-cheap-while-apple-shares-are-permacostly-like-costco\/cZYKXPVRJn8\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0called<\/a> Lululemon stock \u201cscreaming cheap.\u201d Burry had earlier stated that investors were too pessimistic about the athletic apparel company.<\/p>\n<p>Retail Expects LULU Stock To Fall After Q2 Results<\/p>\n<p>Retail sentiment surrounding LULU on Stocktwits flipped to \u2018neutral\u2019 from \u2018bullish\u2019 over the past 24 hours.
