SolarEdge (SEDG) shares closed higher on Wednesday after a senior UBS analyst, Jon Windham, issued a bullish note in favor of the solar inverters specialist.\u00a0In a research note this morning, Windham upgraded SEDG to “Buy” and raised his price objective to $42, indicating potential upside of nearly 30% from current levels.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

His bullish call brings a much-needed reprieve to SolarEdge stock that was otherwise down nearly\u00a060% versus its year-to-date high.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) restrictions banning non-compliant foreign-produced solar inverters are set to meaningfully constrain supply across the domestic U.S. market.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Analyst Jon Windham notes that these tighter regulatory barriers create a major advantage for established domestic suppliers like SolarEdge.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Trading at a\u00a0price-to-sales (P\/S) ratio of about 1.56x \u2014 well below its historical multiple of about 2.7x \u2014 the energy-tech stock appears oversold relative to its longer-term earnings capacity.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Windham emphasizes that while near-term earnings remain under pressure, the combination of regulatory tailwinds and ongoing inventory clearing could accelerate cash-flow recovery into late 2026 and 2027.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

With SolarEdge stock retesting structural support around the $30 level, Windham’s upgraded $42 price target reflects a compelling entry point for growth investors.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Note that SEDG now sits just below its\u00a020-day moving average (MA), with a decisive break above $34 expected to boost upward momentum in the near term.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

How Wall Street Recommends Playing SolarEdge <\/p>\n

On the flip side, however, investors should note that other Wall Street firms are not nearly as bullish on SolarEdge shares.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

According to Barchart, the consensus rating on SEDG sits at “Hold” only, with the mean target of about $34 already roughly in line with the price at which it’s trading currently.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
